SNHR tried to find where Dr. Raniya is being detained by contacting tens of former woman prisoners throughout Syria, but no one has ever seen her.
Her fate is still unknown as well as her family.
SNHR learned that Dr. Raniya and her six kids’ names were listed in the exchange deals with the Lebnaese who were kidnapped and also the Turkish pilots. However, she has not been released to this day which makes us think that the Syrian regime has already killed her and her family or she died under torture which is the case for many Syrian prisoners every day.
