إطلاق الجولة السادسة من حملة تلقيح شلل الأطفال، وتأجيلها في حلب لأسباب لوجستية!

** أطلق فريق عمل مكافحة شلل الأطفال الجولة السادسة من حملة التلقيح الجوالة لمكافحة شلل الأطفال في سوريا صباح السبت 24 أيار/مايو في خمس محافظات هي اللاذقية وإدلب وحماة والرقة والحسكة، و قد انطلقت الجولة السادسة من الحملة في محافظة دير الزور يوم الأحد 25/ أيار على أن يتم إطلاق الجولة السادسة في محافظة حلب غداً الثلاثاء 27 أيار/مايو بعد استكمال التجهيزات اللوجستية.

وكان فريق العمل قد استلم اللقاحات المخصصة للجولة قبل عدة أيام وعمل على توزيعها على مراكز اللقاح واستكمال التجهيزات اللوجستية لاطلاق الجولة السادسة من الحملة والتي ستستمر لمدة ستة أيام في كل محافظة ومن المرجح أن تصل لأكثر من 1,4 مليون طفل تترواح أعمارهم بين يوم وخمس سنوات.

وكان الدكتور بشير تاج الدين المنسق الفني لفريق العمل، أشار في وقت سابق أن مرض شلل الأطفال تمت السيطرة عليه في المناطق الشمالية من سوريا حسب المعطيات الأولية حيث كانت آخر إصابة تم تأكيدها مخبريا في شهر كانون الثاني من العام الجاري، ونفى ما تناقلته بعض وسائل الإعلام عن أن مرض شلل الأطفال في سوريا ينتشر ويزداد، وقال إن المناطق التي يتم فيها إجراء حملة التلقيح، والتي تمت بجهود المتطوعين السوريين و بمساعدة الهلال الأحمر التركي ووزارة الصحة التركية هي مناطق نظيفة من شلل الأطفال، وأشار إلى أن المناطق التي تمت فيها حملة التلقيح لم تسجل أية حالة إصابة بشلل
الأطفال.

وتأتي الجولة السادسة استكمالاً لعمليات التحصين للأطفال التي تمت في الجولات الخمس السابقة حيث يتوجب على الطفل الحصول على اللقاح و لعدة مرّات لتتشكل لديه مناعة تامة ضد المرض.

يذكر أن فريق عمل مكافحة شلل الأطفال تشكّل من تضافر جهود وحدة تنسيق الدعم "ACU" ومديريات الصحة والمجالس المحلية ومجموعة من المنظمات المحلية والدولية غير الحكومية تحت شعار "لننهي شلل الأطفال في سوريا" ويبلغ عدد المتطوعين في الفريق أكثر من 8,000 شخص وبمشاركة مايزيد من 200 طبيب.

** Launching the Sixth round of the polio vaccination campaign

** The polio control task force (PCTF) has launched the sixth round of mobile vaccination campaign to combat polio in Syria on Saturday 24 May 2014, to cover 5 governorates which are: Latakia, Idlib, Hama, Raqqa and Hasakah, while the sixth campaign has begun with province of Deir al-Zour on Sunday 25/ May, to be the launch of the sixth round in the province of Aleppo on Tuesday 27/ May after the completion of logistics equipment.

The team has received vaccines allocated for the round a few days ago and working on distribute it to the centers of vaccine, and to completion of logistics equipment to launch of the sixth round of the campaign, which will run for six days in each province and is likely to reach to more than 1.4 million children between the ages of day to five years.

Dr. Bashir Taj al-din technical coordinator of the Working Group, said earlier that polio was brought under control in the northern areas of Syria, according to initial data Where the last case was confirmed in the laboratory in the month of January of this year, and he denied the reports which out by some media that the polio is spread in Syria increasingly, he added that the areas in which they are conducting the vaccination campaign are clean of polio, which has been done with the efforts of Syrian volunteers and with the help of the Turkish Red Crescent and the Turkish Ministry of Health.

The sixth round come to complement the immunization of children that have been done in the previous five rounds, where the child should get the vaccine several times to form his full immunity against the disease.

The Sixth round of the polio vaccination campaign is working group of combat polio formed by concerted efforts of: coordination unit support "ACU”, health departments, local councils and a range of local organizations and international non-governmental organizations under the slogan "to put an end to polio in Syria, The number of volunteers in the team more than 8,000 person and with the participation of more than 200 doctor.
