Surpassing 500 Days , Doctor & Activist Fares Hamdi Al-Zahoki is in detention
مرّ أكثر من 500 يوم على ثالث اعتقال للطبيب والناشط: فارس حمدي
الزاعوقي، ابن بلدة تسيل، محافظة درعا، والذي يبلغ من العمر 50 سنة، وهو
متزوج وأب لعدة أولاد، حيث كان من النشطاء الأوائل الذين شاركوا في
المظاهرات السلمية، وكما كان يقوم بمداوة جرحى المظاهرات بالإمكانيات
البسيطة المتوفرة.
كان أول اعتقال له يوم السبت بتاريخ 20-8-2011 حين قامت دورية من عناصر
الأمن باعتقاله واقتياده إلى جهة مجهولة، حيث بقي رهن الاعتقال لخمسة
أيام.
استمر بعدها بالنشاط السلمي مطالباً بالحرية، إلى أن قامت قوات الأمن
باقتحام منزله يوم الجمعة 16-9-2011 وتم اعتقاله مع ابنه دون مذكرة
اعتقال، كما قاموا بتحطيم سيارته الخاصة، وتم الإفراج عنهم بتاريخ
5-10-2011
اعتقاله الثالث كان بتاريخ 24-11-2011 على يد قوات الأمن، التي اقتادته
الى جهة غير معلومة حيث لا يزال قيد الاختفاء القسري منذ تاريخه، خاصة
أنه لم يحوّل إلى القضاء ولم يتم توجيه اية تهمة له، ولم يُسمح لذويه
بزيارته.

It has been 500 days now on the third arrest of Doctor and activist Fares
Hamdi Al-zahoki ,coming from his hometown Tsiel – Dar’a Province, a 50
year old, a husband and a father, was one of the prominent activists in
town who started the peaceful demonstration, as well as supplying medical
care to the wounded demonstrators within the modest capabilities available
in his hand.

His first detention was on 20.Aug.2011, when he was arrested by a
security’s patrol and taken to an unknown destination, where he was kept
for 5 days.

And later on same year, he was arrested again on 16.Sep, when a security’s
patrol stormed his house , crashed his car and took him with his son in to
custody, his arrest lasted till 05.Oct when he was released

His third and last arrest that lasted till the date that this statement
was published, took place on 24th of November same year, where he was
taken to an unknown destination, to be held as what is known as " An
enforced disappearance " status.

There is a serious concern on his fate, as there is no information on his
physical status up to the minute this statement was published, and he
hasn’t been charged with any offense yet, nor was his family allowed to
visit him
