Description

At least 67 martyrs have fallen today, including 10 kids. The shelling of towns and cities continues and may be intensifying as the regime uses larger bombs in Homs and Hama provinces. Therefore it is probably no coincidence that the number of Syrians crossing into Jordan has also increased dramatically, with more than 2,300 crossing in 24 hrs. Another thing increasing dramatically is the price of gas – now ten times more than it was in March 2011. Meanwhile, forest fires started by Assad’s forces in northern Syria have spread across the Turkish border as there were reports that a fifteenth general has defected to Turkey. Finally, there was a coordinated effort by activists in Damascus this evening to cut off dozens of main roads in the capital and also the Damascus-Amman highway. See the map for more info
