  *Urgent Call to the UN Chemical Weapons Mission: Either Access Eastern Ghouta or Suspend Operation* ------------------------------------- The rise in the crimes committed by the Syrian regime has reached unprecedented levels. The chemical weapons attack in the morning of August 21, 2013 against the civilian population in the Eastern Ghouta of the province of Damascus is the most violent since the Syrian regime started to use chemical weapons against Syrians. Everything must be immediately done and without any delay by persons with conscious to immediately stop this criminal regime from exterminating civilians. The Mission to Investigate Allegations of the Use of Chemical Weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic, which is currently in Damascus, must demand immediate cessation of the regime’s offensive and unfettered access to Arbin, Ein Tarma, Douma, Kafar Batana, Zamalka and other suburbs of the Eastern Ghouta in Damascus, and Mouadamyah city in western Ghouta, where documented reports indicate that chemical weapons are used by the Syrian regime in the morning of August 21, 2013, causing the extermination of hundreds of civilians including children. If the Mission is denied access to these towns by the Syrian regime, it must immediately suspend its operations, until these suburbs are urgently and as a matter of priority included in the so called modalities defining its mission. Casualties are mounting by the hour. Regime hostilities must stop immediately. The evidence of the use of Chemical weapons is devastatingly fresh. The failure by the Mission to obtain access immediately to such locations is tantamount to giving a license to the regime to use Chemical Weapons against its population on every scale with total impunity ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- *نداء عاجل إلى بعثة الأمم المتحدة للأسلحة الكيميائية: إما الدخول إلى الغوطة الشرقية أو تعليق العمل * إن التصاعد المستمر في ارتكاب الجرائم من قبل النظام السوري بلغ مستويات غير مسبوقة، حيث أنّ الهجوم بالأسلحة الكيماوية صباح يوم 21 آب/أغسطس 2013، في الغوطة الشرقية بريف دمشق، يعتبر أعنف هجوم منذ بدأ النظام باستخدام السلاح الكيماوي ضد السوريين. لذا يجب على كل من لديه ضمير أن يتحرك فورا ومن دون أي تأخير لإيقاف هذا النظام المجرم من إبادة المدنيين. كما يجب على بعثة التحقيق في "الإدعاءات" باستخدام الأسلحة الكيميائية في الجمهورية العربية السورية أن تطلب الوقف الفوري لهجوم النظام، والدخول بدون عائق إلى عربين، وعين ترما ودوما وكفر بطنا، وزملكا وغيرها من بلدات الغوطة الشرقية في ريف دمشق،و مدينة المعضمية في الغوطة الغربية، حيث تشير التقارير الموثقة باستعمال النظام السوري لأسلحة كيميائية في صباح يوم 21 آب 2013، تسبب في إبادة المئات من المدنيين، بما في ذلك الأطفال. إذا لم يسمح النظام السوري للبعثة بالدخول إلى هذه البلدات فوراً، فإن عليها أن توقف عملياتها، حتى يتم إدخال هذا البلدات بشكل عاجل وعلى سبيل الأولوية في نطاق ما يسمى الإجراءات التي تنظم عملها. إن الإصابات تتصاعد على مدار الساعة. ويجب على هجمات النظام أن تتوقف حالاً. إن أدلة استخدام الأسلحة الكيماوية حديثة بشكل مروع. إن عدم تمكن البعثة من الدخول فوراً إلى هذه المناطق يعني إعطاء رخصة للنظام لاستعمال الأسلحة الكيميائية على كافة المستويات ضد شعبه، بدون أية محاسبة. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Violation Documentation Center in Syria E-mail: editor@vdc-sy.org Websit: www.vdc-sy.org Facebook: www.facebook.com/vdcsy Twitter: twitter.com/VDC_Syria [image: صورة مضمّنة 1]
