Scabies in Amman (camp in Jabal Hussein)

  There are confirmed cases of scabies among Syrian refugees in Amman. Patients living in a camp in Jabal Hussein report cases among at least 15 families. There are also an unknown number of cases in Za'atari camp according to a doctor working there. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that first-line treatments (permetherin, ivermectin) do not seem to be available in Jordan. Additional preventive steps such as washing clothes in hot water are also difficult/impractical for many of the refugees.
