  Homs: Summary from Tuesday, October 25, 2011 A demonstration went out before noon in Al-Holeh, with the news of the arrival of reinforcements that got stationed in the center of the town. In the morning, Shabiha thugs kidnapped the Muezzin of Al-Wafai mosque in Al-Inshaat neighborhood after the morning prayer and took him to Al-Thahab neighborhood, which is pro-regime. Later, people found his body on the road to Tadmur, and a quiet funeral was held for him without a demonstration because the Assad security and Shabiha thugs threatened his family. Heavy gunfire was fired from machine guns and rockets were launched from tanks from the checkpoints spread all along Al-Qahera street in Al-Bayada neighborhood, and they were aimed at residential homes and at stores. Some of the snipers located inside and on top of the postal services building aimed at pedestrians. As a result of all of this, some stores burned and many homes got damages, in addition to many injuries to people. The firing and rockets were also fired in each of Al-Khaldiyeh, Al-Qusoor, and Deir Balba neighborhoods. Reportedly, two young men from Al-Khaldiyeh were arrested. A few more checkpoints were established inside the city to further divide the city and terrorize the residents. For example, new checkpoints were added in Al-Karabees and Al-Qusoor. The Shabiha militias, with the support of the Assad regime, continued kidnapping and killing people. 3 cars, one of them a taxi, kidnapped a woman in full hijab (or Niqab) in Al-Waar neighborhood near Al-Kawakibi café and going towards the refinery circle (most likely towards Al-Mazraa, which is mostly Shia Muslims). In the afternoon, a massive demonstration went out in Al-Bayada with participation from women. As a result, checkpoints and security members fired at the demonstration, resulting in some wounded. News came from Al-Qusayr about the arrest of Abdelmamoon Awda from his home, and he is the brother of martyr Mahmoud Awda. Mahmoud Al-Zuhoori, 65 years old, was also arrested at one of the checkpoints. Others who were reportedly arrested: Muhammad Muheb El-Deen, Muhammad Al-Shalabi, Ammar Ra’d, and Isam Akram Idrees (16 years old). In Al-Bayoda village, just east of Al-Qusayr, a funeral was held for martyr Abdelraheem Moussa Bakar, who was killed by Assad forces’ bullets in Karm Al-Zeitoun neighborhood of Homs while he was there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gs_K9U2sYY Reports arrived from Talbiseh about arresting 4 people from one family from their home, in Al-Janoubi neighborhood this morning and they are: Kamal, Najib, Ammer, and Ammar Al-Nasan. The city of Homs witnessed more violent bombing and firing operations from checkpoints and armored vehicles, even in side streets. The minarets of Saad Bin Abi Wakkas and Oman Bin Al-Khattab mosques were targeted. There were many injuries and wounded people, including children and women, one child who is 11 years old is in critical condition after being shot in the neck. The operation continued until the early evening. Additionally, Fatima Khaled Al-Daheek, 42 years old, a mother of 5 was also killed. It should be noted that her bother is martyr Muhammad Khaled Al-Daheek and her husband has been arrested and detained for over 3 months now. Checkpoints and armored vehicles in Al-Bayada resumed firing and launching bombs towards residential homes, with the sounds of explosions being heard all around. As for Deir Balba, which had been viciously attacked the last few days, Assad forces used heavy artillery, machine guns, and bombs to bomb the neighborhood, which resulted in many wounded. It should be noted that there were reports of Shabiha thugs kidnapping a young man, Mahdi Al-Sharif, 33 years old, and taking him to Al-Abbasiyeh neighborhood, then an unknown location.
