    *The humanitarian condition in the besieged cities, Talbisah and Al Rastan; the suburbs of Homs* * 27/9/2011- 1/10/2011***** ** ** *Talbisah and Rastan: Living conditions in the two cities:***** The two cities are currently being subjected to violent blockade by the Syrian army and security forces. All Entrances and exits from the city are closed as well as the sub-ways and agricultural roads. Also, the main Homs-Hama road is blocked.**** Electricity, water and all communications have been cut off for 6 days now. The two cities are experiencing deathly shortages of food and medicine and diesel to operate machinery. Testimonies of heavy bombing on the main bread factory have also been reported leaving civilians in dire situations. There are extreme shortages in medicine and baby formulas due to acts of vandalism and occupation by the Syrian Army on all pharmacies and emergency care centers that are now utilized by the Syrian Army as sniper stations to shoot down any civilian walking in the street. All schools have been shut down.*** * Reports of over 200 bombs over the city of Talbisah; 100 of those bombs have hit the historical sight of an old castle and the rest all over the city. 30 homes have been completely demolished and 60 homes in non living conditions. 60 water tanks have been shot at leaving the entire city with no water on both cities.**** All residential homes in the eastern parts of Rastan have been attacked which forced the civilians to move into the down town areas, however, still not safe from the heavy bombing for the past 4 days now where clashes between the Syrian army and the defected army personnel.**** ** ** **** *Vandalism and loitering ***** The Syrian Security forces have damaged and vandalized all shops in the Al-Karaj shopping center in Rastan as well as all shops on the main street in Talbisah.**** ** ** *Arrests, death threats and abductions:***** Security forces are currently arresting anyone who attempts to deliver any type of humanitarian and medical assistance to the two cities; one of which is an old man. In addition to the daily arrests taking place, families in the two cities are being threatened to have their children killed and hung should they attempt to demonstrate in the streets again. Current and accurate death toll is extremely hard to verify due to the blockade however reports have authenticated 15 names of martyrs four of them women and children. **** ** ** *Neighboring towns:***** All towns neighboring Talbisah and Rastan are being subjected to sever siege, terror, arrests and gunfire**** *Al Ghantu, Ter Ma’alle, Za’farane, Qunaiterat, Ez Eddin, Farhaniyye, Ghajr, Dhaheriyye, Der Fool, Ghasbiyye, Makrameyye, Hashmeyye***** Security checkpoints spread in all entrances and exits of these towns, snipers deployed in all areas to stop movement**** Security forces waged a wide campaign of arrests in most of these areas, 7 young men from Ez Eddin town were arrested after they were wounded by snipers’ bullets, in addition to 8 others from Za’farane, among them a 10 year old child, also in Ghajr town**** A curfew have been imposed in all areas from 7 pm, even in the morning residents fear to go out of their homes due to the intensive deployment of snipers**** **** *Authenticated names of martyrs during this attack on civilians:***** *Martyrs of Rastan:***** 1.
